White Lace (A Wedding Song)

Listen: HiFi (128kbps) LoFi (24kbps)

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.  This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.  —Ephesians 5:31-32

White lace, veiled face, the blush of hope shines through.
Young bride, starry-eyed, for every thing is seen as new.
She will know and walk below His banner spread above,
And know no shame to bear His name; His banner over her is love.

Bridegroom enters room with joy Himself beside.
Thoughts stray yet away when first He chose her for His bride.
Time has passed, but now at last the days have led to this.
Silent now, a solemn vow on which is set a sealing kiss.

Soul-mate, mystery great, when two become as one.
Glad sight, all in white, the Father gives her to the Son.
At His side, the Lamb’s dear bride will reign with Him above.
Who knew no shame to bear His name will live forever in His love.
